Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is coming to PS5 on January 28, 2022
The remaster bundle of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and the standalone expansion The Lost Legacy will be released on January 28, 2022 for the PlayStation 5. An upgrade of the PS4 version costs 10 euros. The PC version will follow later, but when is not yet clear.
The PlayStation 5 version will have three graphics modes. For the best quality, players can opt for Fidelity mode, which runs the game in native 4k resolution with a 30fps target. There is also a Performance mode where the game uses a 60fps target. Developer Naughty Dog does not say what resolution this will come with. This may be 4k with checkerboarding or a dynamic resolution. Finally, there’s a Performance+ mode, where the game runs in 1080p with a 120fps target. The developer does not say anything about any other graphical differences in the three modes.
The makers do promise very fast loading times and support for 3D audio. The PS5 version will also receive support for the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The remaster bundle contains only the single player portions of the two games. The multiplayer parts are missing.
Uncharted Upgrades
Finally, Sony announces that owners of the PlayStation 4 versions of Uncharted 4 or The Lost Legacy can buy an upgrade to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves for the PS5 for 10 euros. It is possible to upgrade both physical and digital editions, but the version of Uncharted 4 that PlayStation Plus subscribers could claim is not upgradeable.
That upgrade will be available from January 28, 2022. That’s also the release date of The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. This new bundle costs 50 euros separately and is available both physically and digitally. The remaster bundle will also be released for PC later in 2022, but a release date has not yet been announced.
