Intel seems to be planning to release a new member of the Core i7 series with the 8086K. The new CPU within the Coffee Lake-S seems to have similar specifications to the Core i7 8700K, and would be released in honor of the 40th anniversary of the 8086 processor.

The new processor would be tested by Intel, and has come into the hands of a Chinese who released information about it, Wccftech noted. The Core i7 8086K falls within the Coffee Lake S family and has a base clock of 4.0GHz, with boost to 5.1GHz. This means that the processor has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7 8700K, with which it shares many features, including six cores and the UHD 630 GPU. Furthermore, the new processor has a TDP of 95W.

Intel is rumored to release the 8086K in honor of the 40th anniversary of the first 8086 processor. However, Intel itself has not released anything about it yet, so the exact release date and introduction price are not yet known. It’s not the first time Intel has released an anniversary edition of a processor; rather it did so because of the twentieth anniversary of the Pentium.
