Game developer GSC Game World has halted development of its games, including Stalker 2. The Ukrainian company released a video saying it wants to get its employees to safety first because of the war in the country.

GSC Game World has put a short video online in which it speaks out against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The company shows some behind-the-scenes footage showing how the motion capture for the upcoming game was made, but then switches to bombing cities across the country. “This video is our answer to the question ‘How are you?’,” the developers wrote. The company does not specifically mention the development of the upcoming game Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl, but that is the largest release that GSC is currently working on.

Game development has therefore been “pushed to the sidelines,” says GSC. “We want to help our employees and their families survive first,” say the makers. We will continue, but only after the win.”

Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl was originally scheduled to release on April 28 of this year, but was previously delayed to December. The developer said he wants to use the extra time to improve and test the game.
