Ubuntu appears in the Windows Store and Fedora and Suse are also coming to Microsoft’s store. Developers can download the distros for use with the Windows Subsystem for Linux. Apple brings iTunes to the Windows Store.

Microsoft and Canonical have been working together for some time and enabled the functionality ‘Bash on Ubuntu on Windows’ with the Anniversary Update of Windows 10 last year. This runs on the Windows Subsystem for Linux. Microsoft is working on bringing Suse and Fedora to that virtualized environment as well, so developers can run their Linux and Windows tools side by side. When those distros arrive on Windows 10, they can also be downloaded from the Windows Store.

in addition announced Microsoft recommends that Apple will distribute iTunes through the Windows Store. Neither Microsoft nor Apple gave details about the release, but the Universal Windows Platform app would have the same functionality as the existing iTunes software for Windows and offer full iPhone support.

Microsoft is eager to bring more applications to its Windows Store. The company announced a version of its OS, Windows 10 S, in early May, which only accepts the installation of apps from the Windows Store.
