Ubisoft withholds completed Wii U game until console sells more
According to director Yves Guillemot, publisher Ubisoft is holding back a fully completed game for the Wii U. The French publisher is waiting for Nintendo’s console to sell more. It is not known what kind of game Ubisoft has in store.
Ubisoft has a game for the Wii U on the shelf that has been finished for half a year. According to Guillemot, it is a game that is suitable for a large audience and so the French publisher is waiting until the sale of the Nintendo console is attracted. The director does not say how many copies of the console must be sold before he wants to release the game. “I don’t have a number in my head. However, sales need to pick up so that the console is more mass market and we can allocate the marketing budget for a large marketing campaign.” Guillemot won’t say what kind of game Ubisoft has on the shelf.
The director further revealed in the interview with Polygon that Watch Dogs will still be released for the Wii U. It should be out in November. Ubisoft also wants to release a Wii U version of the new Just Dance. It should be released in 2015.
