Ubisoft plans to release the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake in 2026. The developer announced this in a new teaser trailer. The game has been postponed several times in recent years.

There are no details about the game yet. Ubisoft has also not yet announced the exact release date. The trailer only shows that a mechanism from the original game, which allowed the main character to turn back time with his dagger, is returning.

Ubisoft announced the remake in 2020. The game was originally supposed to be released in 2021. Since then it has been postponed more than once. In 2022, it was announced that Ubisoft Montreal would take over development of the game from Ubisoft studios in Mumbai and Pune, India. Earlier this year, anonymous sources told gaming journalist Tom Henderson that development had started again from scratch.

The game is in the early stages of development, according to Henderson. Ubisoft Montreal is developing the graphics, animations and gameplay mechanics from scratch. The script would also have been completely rewritten. Voice actor Yuri Lowenthal, who voiced the prince in the original game, is no longer involved in the project.
