Ubisoft to make The Division feature film
Ubisoft Motion Pictures announces that a movie of Tom Clancy’s The Division is being made. Actors Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal will get roles in the film, about which no further details have been given yet.
It is not yet clear when the The Division film will hit theaters and what the story will be about. At the moment, Ubisoft Motion Pictures has only announced that the film is coming and has named two actors, who are expected to play the lead roles. Jessica Chastain previously starred in The Martian and Interstellar, among others; Jake Gyllenhaal is known for Nightcrawler and Donnie Darko.
The Division came out in March this year. In the game, New York has been shut down by a deadly virus that has killed most of the population. The agents of The Division, of which the player is one, must restore order.
Founded in 2011, Ubisoft Motion Pictures makes movies and series around the game publisher’s themes. No Ubisoft film has hit theaters, but Assassin’s Creed has now been filmed. This film will hit theaters in December. The Ubisoft film studio is also working on projects around Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and Watch Dogs.
