Ubisoft temporarily releases Rainbow Six: Siege starter edition for 15 euros
Ubisoft has released a ‘Starter Edition’ of Rainbow Six: Siege on PC. The cheaper version costs 15 euros and contains the full game, but unlocking Operators takes much longer than in the regular game. The starter edition is on sale until June 19.
The cheap edition of Rainbow Six: Siege contains the same content as the full game, but those who start the game only get access to two of the twenty Operators. Players will also receive 600 R6 credits, which can be used to ‘purchase’ an additional two Operators of their choice. To unlock the other Operators, many more points are needed than in the full version of the game.
Players can collect the necessary points by playing the game, but to unlock one new Operator, it will take about 15 hours to play, Ubisoft says. It takes about 240 hours to unlock the sixteen available Operators. In the regular game this is half an hour to two hours per Operator. It is also possible to unlock the Operators with R6 credits, which can be bought with real money.
Operators are the characters in the game that allow players to take to the battlefield in co-op and multiplayer. Each Operator has equipment consisting of a rifle, pistol, grenade and a gadget and thus determines the approach to carrying out the mission. The Rainbow Six: Siege Starter Edition is only available on Steam and Uplay for $15. The cheap version is not available on the consoles.
