Ubisoft requires 2fa for Rainbow: Six Siege Ranked mode starting December 11
Ubisoft is going to set two-step authentication login for the Ranked matches in Rainbow Six: Siege as the default. This only applies to PC players. The other modes are available without this login method. The requirement will come into effect on December 11.
According to the report on the official Rainbow Six: Siege website, PC players from North America, South America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East will only be able to participate in Ranked matches from December 11th if they have activated the security measure. The final date for players in Asia and Oceania has not yet been announced. Ubisoft reports that it is making two-step authentication mandatory to ensure the security of players’ accounts.
To activate two-step authentication, users must log into the Ubisoft Account website, go to their security settings and activate two-step authentication. They then receive a confirmation via email and must download Google Authenticator for their smartphone or tablet with Android or iOS.
Players who activate two-step authentication before December 11 will receive a free bundle for the character Thermite. It has been available this way since the beginning of September. Ubisoft indicated in a message in June that it wanted to make the measure mandatory. However, no specific date was announced at that time.
