Ubisoft Releases First Details of Rainbow Six: Siege Operation Wind Bastion
Ubisoft has released the first details of the Operation Wind Bastion update for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege. This contains two new Operators and a new card. More details will be released during the Pro League Finals, on November 18 in Rio de Janeiro.
Ubisoft reports that the update introduces the GIGR. The Groupe d’Intervention de La Gendarmerie Royale is a regiment in the Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie. The base is located in a kasbah in the Atlas Mountains of southern Morocco. This will serve as a training facility. In addition, the two new Operators are of Moroccan descent. One of the Operators has a skillset based on defense and the other has a more offensive approach. The defending Operator is the base commander and the attacking Operator is an experienced survival expert.
The Pro League Finals will be broadcast live on the Rainbow Six Siege Twitch channel on November 17-18. Ubisoft says it will provide more information about the Operators, the map and the release date during the broadcast.Rainbow Six: Siege was released on December 1, 2015 for Windows, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Since then, eleven updates have been released for the game, with a new one almost every quarter. Each update includes two new Operators and a map. Players with a season pass will have access to the map and the Operators one week early. Players without this subscription can get the Operators a week later with points earned by playing online. The card is free for every player. The last update to come out was Operation Grim Sky on September 4, 2018.
