Ubisoft has postponed the release of the PC version of Watch Dogs 2 to November 29. Initially, the game was set to release on November 15, along with the console versions. However, the publisher promises that the PC version will receive extensive optimizations.

The two-week delay is necessary, according to Ubisoft, to optimize the specific improvements that the PC version of Watch Dogs 2 will receive. The publisher states that these are features and options that have been added in response to requests from the community. Right at the launch of the game, Ubisoft promises full support for sli and crossfire setups of multiple video cards, there is no fps limit, the game can be played in 4k resolution and an ultra textures package is available.

In addition, the PC version has improved graphics, including reflections and added shadows caused by car headlights. Ubisoft also promises sliders for the field of view, pixel density and the degree of sharpening. For anti-aliasing you can choose from txaa, msaa, smaa and fxaa.

It is also possible to play the game with multiple monitors and players are given the option to adjust the position of the menu and the hud. In addition, there are several options to play the game windowed. This can be done in a flexible scalable window, spread over multiple monitors or in a borderless window.

According to Ubisoft, the controls in the game are very responsive and less related to the frame rate thanks to optimizations. The game should be playable with mouse and keyboard, but also support the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 controller. The in-game menus are optimized for use with a mouse cursor.

An extensive list of the features in question has been published in a blog announcing the minimum system requirements. According to Ubisoft, at least a GTX 660 or Radeon HD 7870 is required to play the game. A GTX 780, 970, 1060 or R9 290 or newer is recommended.

The extensive attention that Ubisoft is giving to the options of the PC version of Watch Dogs 2 before the release may have to do with the comments the publisher received when the first part was released. Demos shown at E3 in 2012 turned out to be much nicer than the game’s final release. Then a modder discovered that the game contained hidden files, with which the graphic qualities could be taken to a higher level.
