Ubisoft is postponing pirate game Skull & Bones for another year
Ubisoft has again postponed Skull & Bones. In a quarterly update, the publisher informed shareholders that the game will no longer be released in 2021. The pirate game is now scheduled for fiscal year 2022
The pirate game Skull & Bones was announced at E3 in 2017. The game was then supposed to be released in 2018, but has since been postponed several times. It was previously announced that the open world game would get a different approach, with a dynamic story that changes based on the actions of players in the game.
The publisher has not made any statements until Tuesday about when Skull & Bones should be released, but at least not in 2020. From the quarterly update on Tuesday it appears that this will no longer be 2021. The game should now be released in fiscal year 2022 – 2023. Which means the game should be released sometime between April 2022 and April 2023.
Skull & Bones is based on the sea battles from Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. According to sources, Ubisoft wants to bring the game the social and live storytelling aspects of Fortnite and keep updating the game over a longer period of time.
