Ubisoft is not going to E3 after all and will host its own game event in June
Game maker Ubisoft will not be present at the E3 game fair this year, even though the company said it would in February. Instead, the company will host a Ubisoft Forward Live event on June 12, around the time of E3.
“While we initially planned to have an official presence at E3, we have since decided to go in a different direction,” a Ubisoft spokesperson told VideoGamesChronicle. The company does not give a reason for this decision and says it will provide more details later about the Forward Live event, which will take place in Los Angeles, just like E3.
The 2023 edition of E3 is the first physical edition of the fair since 2019. Ubisoft said at the end of February against GamesIndustry.biz to participate in E3. Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony are not there this year, other major gaming companies have not yet confirmed their presence. This year the gaming fair is from June 13 to 16. The organization behind the fair said at the beginning of March according to VGC that unannounced AAA companies will be present at E3.
