Ubisoft is delaying Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine for at least two months
Ubisoft has delayed the release of Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine. The games won’t be released until the company’s next fiscal year. That means that the games will be released in April next year at the earliest, at least two months later than planned.
Ubisoft said during its quarterly earnings presentation that the games won’t be released until the company’s next fiscal year. That will run from April 2021 to March 2022. The company does not want to be more specific, so it is theoretically possible that the games will only be released in 2 years, although that does not seem likely. On Twitter says the developer only that Far Cry 6 comes ‘later’.
Ubisoft is talking about Far Cry 6 that has already been announced, but also about Rainbow Six Quarantine, about which nothing is known at this time. Initially, Far Cry 6 was to be released on February 18th of next year.
The publisher does not provide any specific reason for delaying the games. Ubisoft says it is doing that to “unlock the game’s full potential in the context of production challenges.” Those challenges would come from the corona crisis.
