Ubisoft delays Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora release to 2023 or 2024
Ubisoft has postponed the release of the first-person game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to a later date in 2023 or 2024. The company did not give an exact reason for the delay. The game was initially supposed to be released in 2022.
The news was announced during the most recent performance of Ubisoft’s quarterly results. In it, CEO Yves Guillemot states that Ubisoft wants the franchise to grow into a brand and must be active in the gaming market for several years. It is also important for the man that the game can use the graphical computing power of the current generation of consoles.
Ubisoft also stated during its quarterly earnings talks that the company will reveal further plans for the future of Assassin’s Creed next September. It will also organize an event for this.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was first in 2017 announced and was due to launch in 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Google Stadia and Amazon Luna. In 2021, Ubisoft published a first-ever trailer showing pre-rendered footage of the first-person game. The trailer contains no gameplay. From the description of the trailer at the time, it appears that the game takes place on a different part of planet Pandora than where the story from the 2009 film takes place.
