Ubisoft acquires Trackmania developer Nadeo
The French Nadeo is taken over by publisher Ubisoft. It is not known how much money is involved in the acquisition of the studio best known for the game Trackmania. Trackmania 2 is already in development.
The French publisher Ubisoft has taken over the also French development studio Nadeo. This has Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot on Tuesday announced. It is not known what amount is involved in the acquisition and the other conditions have not been disclosed. Nadeo is best known for the popular game Trackmania, which gives players the opportunity to design their own circuits. The game has a loyal fan base. The sequel to the successful first title was recently announced by Nadeo.
The acquisition shows that Ubisoft remains active in the field of corporate acquisitions. Previously, Massive Entertainment was brought in when this developer was put up for sale as a result of the Activision Blizzard merger. Yves Guillemot said that they are happy that they can apply Nadeo’s expertise at Ubisoft in the future.
