Two new Wear OS smartwatches from LG pop up at the FCC
LG seems to be planning to release two new smartwatches with Wear OS soon. Documentation for both devices was found with the US telecom watchdog FCC. A release date has not yet been announced.
It concerns the models LM-W315 and LM-W319, Android Police discovered based on information that the FCC has put online. Given that the model numbers are close together, it is possible that there are two different versions within the same series. However, little is known about the specifications, except that the software is based on Wear OS from Google; the pictures show part of the interface.
The FCC also states that wireless connections can be made via Bluetooth and WiFi. Things like GPS or LTE are not mentioned. Nothing has been said about other specifications such as the processor used or the dimensions of the screen.
Earlier this year there were rumors about a possible new smartwatch from LG. This smartwatch would be a combination between a mechanical watch and a full-fledged smartwatch. The device is said to have 4GB storage, 768MB lpddr3, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 2100-soc, and a 1.2″ round screen. If it concerns the same smartwatch as the one mentioned in the FCC documentation, it is likely that LG will close at an announcement, which is something that has also been reported in rumors.
