Twitter to make Spaces audio chat feature available for desktop web browsers
Twitter is also going to release its audio chat function Spaces for its web app. The feature was already available for iOS and Android. Spaces allows users to talk to their contacts using their voice.
Twitter user Jane Manchun Wong, among others came with the message that Twitter is working on Spaces for the web app and the company has since confirmed this to The Verge. Wong also posted a screenshot of what the feature would look like on the web. A developer of Spaces placed a few days ago I also designed what the function might look like. It is still unknown when the web version will be released.
Currently, Spaces is only available for mobile apps. That has been the case for iOS since January and early last month was android turn. With the arrival of Spaces for the web, Twitter aims to offer an even more widely available alternative to Clubhouse. The latter service is currently only available for iOS.
There are many more services that introduce such audio chat features. For example, Discord recently introduced the Stage Channels, where users can make their audio conversations available in a room of virtual listeners. This feature of Discord is available on many platforms.
