Twitter is testing a ‘liked by author’ label. As a result, other users should immediately see which replies are liked by the creator of a tweet. It is still a limited test, says Twitter.

Twitter has confirmed the test against Techcrunch after an editor of the site came across the label. The site says the test appears to be running in several countries. Twitter often conducts tests with new features and does so within a limited group to see what the effect of a certain addition to the site or app is.

The label shows a red heart with the addition ‘by author’. The red heart in Twitter’s interface is a sign of ‘liking’ a particular tweet. The position of the reply to the tweet doesn’t seem to change. TikTok, among others, also has such a label, says TechCrunch. YouTube also indicates which reactions the creator of a video likes. Twitter doesn’t say if or when the label will become a feature that will be available to every user.
