Twitter shows users what information is shared with advertisers
As part of its new privacy policy, Twitter has added a page where users can see what information the service shares with advertisers. Users can also request a list of advertisers and disable personalized ads.
Twitter users will be notified about the new policy and in a blog provides the service with more information. A new Personalization and Data section has been added to the privacy settings of the service, where users can choose whether or not they want to receive personalized ads.
The Your Twitter data page allows users to see what information personalized ads are based on. It is a list of interests, which is compiled on the basis of the profile and activity of the users. It is possible to remove interests from the list.
Users can also request a list of all advertisers who have the information here. Twitter will send that list in an email upon request, and the list will consist of a listing of the Twitter accounts of the advertisers concerned.
Twitter is changing its privacy policy, among other things, because it is working with new advertising partners to display personalized ads. Users must first give permission for this via the new page.
