Twitter postpones changes to API usage again
Social media company Twitter is once again postponing changes to the use of its API. That has been reported by the company. It would again be a delay of a few days. Meanwhile, there are still few details on how developers can start using the API.
Twitter needs extra time to deliver an ‘optimum experience’ to developers, says the company. The changes should have come into effect at the beginning of this week, but that did not happen. Also, Twitter has not yet released any additional details about how developers can use the API and what subscriptions will look like.
Twitter said last week that using the Ads API will cost $100 a month, while Premium subscribers will have to move to a more expensive Enterprise plan. There remains a limited free version for use of the API, but what is possible with it is still unclear.
Meanwhile Twitter CEO Elon Musk is talking about a “modification of Twitter’s “algorithm”. In doing so, he seems to be aiming for his tweets to appear more prominently in the feed of many users, something that has been the case since Monday, according to The Verge. Musk is said to have complained internally about a lack of impressions from his tweets. One of the changes Musk has introduced to Twitter is a publicly visible view counter.
