Twitter opens analytics software to all users
Twitter has opened its Analytics software, which can analyze statistics related to reach and impressions of tweets, to all of its users. Previously, the tool was only available to advertisers and verified users.
Interested Twitter users can check their stats on the analyticssite of Twitter, that’s how the social networking site made known. On the dashboard, users can see how often their tweets have been viewed, how often they have been responded to and how often the posts have been ‘favored’ by others. The software also keeps track of how often links included in Twitter messages are clicked.
Analytics for Twitter, according to the social networking site, only works after the user has signed up for statistics tracking; therefore no historical data is available. However, the service was previously available to advertisers and verified users. The information was intended to make it more attractive for companies to advertise on Twitter.
With Analytics, Twitter is following in the footsteps of companies such as Facebook and Google, which have been offering similar tools for their services for some time. Incidentally, Twitter already started sending periodic emails in which statistics about the number of impressions, reactions and new followers are shown.
