Twitter makes tweets readable again for non-logged in users
Twitter has made messages on the platform readable again for non-logged in users. For days, tweets were only readable by logged in users. Profiles cannot be viewed.
Twitter hasn’t said anything publicly about reversing the policy, but Engadget noted that viewing tweets without being logged in works again. This only concerns individual tweets and not threads. Profiles cannot be fully viewed without being logged in.
Not being able to view tweets without being logged in has caused problems in recent days, The policy rollback coincides with the release of Meta’s Twitter clone Instagram Threads. It will be released on Thursday in many countries, but not in the EU. According to owner Elon Musk, Twitter’s policy was necessary to combat scraping.
