Twitter lets users in Benelux hide answers antwoorden
Twitter is starting to offer a feature that allows Twitter users to hide replies. Other users can only see those answers by clicking through once. Twitter has previously tested the feature in other countries.
The feature is now also coming to the Benelux and countries worldwide, Twitter says. It social network tests the function since mid-July. In addition, users can choose to hide answers they don’t want to see. After that, other users viewing the conversation will not see the answer by default. It does become visible when they press a button below the tweet.
After the first limited test, Twitter has been offering the feature in China and the US for a few months now. The test found that users mostly hide answers that they find irrelevant or hurtful, the social network says.
The company is working on an API endpoint for hiding answers so that developers of third-party apps can also access the feature. In addition, Twitter wants to test options around limiting who can reply to certain tweets. What that looks like is not yet clear.
