Twitter introduces group conversations and video sharing
Twitter is introducing support for private group conversations, allowing users to follow conversations outside of the public eye. In addition, the microblogging service is introducing support for video sharing.
The functionality is currently being rolled out and does not appear to be available to all users yet. Twitterers can start group conversations with up to 20 followers; those people do not all have to follow each other in order to participate in the group discussion. Currently, users can follow group conversations on Twitter, but they are visible to everyone.
In addition, Twitter comes with the option to share videos directly. They can be a maximum of thirty seconds long and fifteen megabytes in size. In addition, Android users can initially only upload videos that they record from the Twitter app; existing videos can only be uploaded by iOS users. Later, Android users will also have that option. Unlike Facebook, videos don’t play automatically.
