Twitter comes with a function to leave conversation

Twitter comes with a function to leave a conversation on the platform. That has been announced by the company. The option undoes a tag and also prevents users from mentioning the user in the conversation.

Twitter mentions the feature Unmentioning and it will be found under the options that appear when clicking the three dots next to a tweet in notifications. The option is called Leave This Conversation there, or Dit Conversation Verlaten in Dutch. The function is right below the option to ignore the conversation.

If users click on it, the tag will disappear from the original tweet and replies, while users will no longer be able to mention the name in the rest of the conversation. Users will also no longer receive notifications of the conversation in question.

The feature is there to give people more control over their Mentions on the platform and to prevent abuse of the platform, the company says. The feature will be available to all users worldwide on all platforms on which Twitter can be used in the coming days.
