Twitter apologizes for incorrectly labeling tweets with coronavirus fact check

Twitter has apologized for incorrectly adding the “see the facts about COVID-19” label to tweets that do not contain misleading information about the virus. It turned out that the words “frequency oxygen” were enough to automatically summon that label.

“We apologize for any confusion and we are working to improve our labeling process,” stilt Twitter Support. The link below the tweets points to a Twitter curated Twitter Moment where posts are collected that debunk the link between 5G technology and the coronavirus.

Twitter started tagging tweets in May, if it sees fit. Twitter says it intervenes in three different cases: misleading information, disputed claims and unverified claims. If the degree of deception is considered ‘severe’, it will be removed. If that is the case with a disputed claim, the warning message will be deployed. In milder cases, only the label with the link is applied.
