The TV series based on video games Life is Strange and Disco Elysium may be offered on Amazon Prime Video. Amazon has signed an agreement giving pre-emptive rights to the maker’s productions.

That company, dj2 Entertainment, was also responsible for the 2020 Sonic the Hedgehog film and is also making the recently announced It Takes Two film adaptation. It is also working on a Tomb Raider animated series. Its website shows that the company specializes in making movies and series of games. The news comes out via Collider, among others.

The fact that Amazon has pre-emptive rights means that dj2 must be the first to offer the two series to Amazon during a certain period. That company is not obliged to buy the broadcasting rights for the two series, but it is allowed to. Without a doubt, such an agreement involves a financial investment by Amazon in the production, but an amount is not mentioned.

Life is Strange is a third-person graphic adventure game, in which the story plays a strong role and the player has a strong influence on the course of that story through his or her choices. The series’ various characters, mostly teenagers and young adults, develop supernatural powers and must deal with personal tragedies, such as the death of a loved one. The TV series was announced in 2016.

Disco Elysium is an RPG about a detective who must solve a murder case while suffering from amnesia from drink and drug use. In addition, the game takes place in a country that has yet to recover from a war that took place decades earlier. The game has no battles, but is about the inner struggle of the main character, in which his skills and character traits, which the player chooses, help determine the outcomes. This TV series has been working on at least since 2020.
