Tuxedo presents Arm laptop with Qualcomm Snapdragon
Tuxedo Computers has announced an Arm laptop with a Qualcomm Snapdragon So far this is a prototype. The company hopes to release the laptop this year.
Tuxedo Computers unveiled the prototype during the Computex Taipei 2024 computer fair. The prototype has a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite SoC with twelve cores, a base clock speed of 3.8GHz and an Adreno GPU. The clock speed can be further increased to 4.6GHz. The built-in Adreno GPU has a clock speed of 1.25GHz. The laptop is also equipped with 32GB Lpddr5x memory and an NPU with 45Tops AI computing power.
In addition, the device has an aluminum housing and a 14″ IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and a brightness of 400cd/m². In terms of connectivity, the laptop offers USB 4 and HDMI ports The laptop will run on Tuxedo OS. The Ubuntu-based operating system is currently being adapted for the Arm architecture.
Tuxedo Computers hopes to release the laptop around the Christmas period this year, but cannot guarantee that. The device is currently still in the alpha phase of development. It is also not yet known how much the laptop will cost.
