Tuxedo announces gaming laptop with Linux and i7 or Ryzen 7 CPUs
Tuxedo Computers has released two gaming laptops with Linux. The laptops have 15 and 17-inch screens and are available with both Intel and AMD CPUs. GeForce GTX or RTX cards from Nvidia are also available.
The new Polaris laptops run on Ubuntu, or on Tuxedo’s own Tuxedo_OS with a desktop environment of Gnome, Xfce or KDE Plasma. The laptops have screens of 15 and 17 inches with displays with a full HD resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The screens can display one hundred percent of the sRGB color spectrum and have a maximum brightness of 300cd / m2. The models both have four USB ports, one of which is USB-C 3.2 gen2 port, an HDMI 2.0 port, two mini Displayport ports, and an SD card reader.
The laptops are available in various configurations. The cheapest variant has an AMD Ryzen 5 4600H and a GeForce GTX 1650Ti card. That version has a 60Hz display and 8GB of memory. There are also more expensive versions available with a Ryzen 7 4800U or an Intel Core i7-10750H CPU in it, and a GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. Those more expensive configurations also have a screen with a higher refresh rate of up to 144Hz, and ram up to a maximum of 64GB. There are also two m.2 slots available for up to 2TB of storage.
The cheapest version of the laptops is 1124 euros. Anyone who upgrades to the most expensive variant will lose 2697 euros.
