TurboGrafx-16 mini will cost 90 euros in Europe
Konami has announced that the mini TurboGrafx-16 will cost 90 euros in Europe. Recently, the Japanese publisher also announced which games will all be included and that the console will be available in March 2020.
Eurogamer announces the prize. The TurboGrafx-16, which will be sold in Europe under the name PC Engine Core Grafx mini, does contain 50 different games in its lineup, but some of them are the Japanese-language PC Engine games. That’s what the console was called in that country. 24 games are for the TurboGrafx-16 and 26 games are for the PC Engine. A number of games fall into both categories, so the console does not really have 50 unique games. The overlapping games differ in language, regional variations and, in the case of Ys I and II, they involve remakes.
The PC Engine Core Grafx mini is smaller than the original, small enough to fit in the palm of a hand, but the included controller still retains its original size and design. Furthermore, the console has two USB ports to connect controllers and if that is not enough, there is also the option to connect an adapter for even more ports. There is also the possibility to save the progress at any point in a game and multiple screen formats are supported, such as emulating scanlines from a CRT TV.
In the United States and Japan, variants with a different look and name appear, they are called the TurboGrafx-16 mini and PC Engine mini respectively.
