Treyarch acknowledges that there may be stuttering and hiccups while playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on PlayStation 5 after the current Season One patch is implemented. The developer says he is working on a solution.

On Twitter, Treyarch describes the problem as occasional hitching. The company says a solution is planned that should appear as soon as possible. When exactly will that solution come out, is not yet known. The issue was already reported by a player on Reddit; he states that there is a stutter and therefore a short-term collapsing frame rate, which occurs almost randomly every few seconds during gameplay. According to another player this new problem makes the game more or less unplayable.

There are several other issues that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War PS5 players are talking about complain, such as lag and random crashes. In addition, there are also players who cannot access the Season One content. This is limited to PC, according to Treyarch, where the so-called ‘Zed 398 Swift Clover’ error can occur when players attempt to play the content from the first season. Treyarch says that it is investigating this issue together with Beenox and that it has disabled crossplay on PC for now. Earlier there was also a problem for Xbox players.

The first season of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War arrives on Wednesday and will introduce new weapons, operators, challenges and additions to the zombie portion of the shooter, among other things. In addition, eight new multiplayer playing fields will be added. Gunfight mode will also be available in Black Ops Cold War, in which two players have to compete against two others. There will also be a new playing field for battle-royale mode Warzone, an island with many close-range battles for up to 40 players.
