Trailer shows gameplay footage Perfect Dark reboot

Microsoft has shown new gameplay footage of Perfect Dark. In the trailer we see what the storyline, the combat system and the stealth functionality of the game look like. It is not yet clear when Perfect Dark will come onto the market.

In the trailer shows how the story of this reboot takes place in a futuristic version of the Egyptian capital Cairo. The player takes on the role of Joanna Dark, a secret agent from the dataDyne organization who is pursuing a dangerous criminal. Dark must investigate where some technological breakthroughs that could threaten millions of lives suddenly come from. The images also show that the reboot uses a first-person perspective, and that freedom of choice and gadgets play a major role.

Developers The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics have in their own words inspired by the first two Perfect Dark games, but developed a completely new storyline. It is not necessary for players to have played the first two games.

There have been two Perfect Dark games released so far, the last of which dates back to 2005. Both titles were developed by Rare, but although Rare is now a Microsoft studio, it is not participating in the reboot.
