Trailer Hideo Kojima documentary shows series of famous faces
A trailer has been released for Connecting Worlds, the upcoming documentary about game maker Hideo Kojima. The documentary will premiere at a film festival in the US later this month, but the further release date has not yet been announced.
The trailer contains many names of famous people who were interviewed for the film. Guillermo del Toro, Mads Mikkelsen, Herman Hulst, Lea Seydoux, Nicolas Winding Refn, Norman Reedus, George Miller, Troy Baker and Geoff Keighley are well-known names from the world of films and games.
Kojima himself is presented as ‘the first author in the video game world’. Wikipedia defines the concept of author in the English language as ‘an artist, usually a film director, with a characteristic working method, whose control is so limitless but also personal that the director is described as the author of the film’.
Viewers can take an in-depth look into not only the mind of Hideo Kojima, but also the working process at his own studio, Kojima Productions, at the time of Death Stranding. That studio is currently working on the second Death Stranding.
For those who really don’t want to wait until the documentary is out: three years ago the BBC was allowed to make one take a look behind the scenes at Kojima Productions. Those images are also about the time the studio was working on Death Stranding.
