Trademark application indicates Warp Charge as a new name for OnePlus fast charging technology
OnePlus has filed a trademark application for the Warp Charge designation. The company may want to use this name for its fast charging technology, which it initially referred to as Dash Charge. This name phased the company out.
The recent application to the Intellectual Property Office was noticed by MobielKopen. The applicant’s name is OnePlus and the application falls under ‘publicity’ and the category for data cables, adapters and batteries. The current status of the application is that it is currently under investigation by an agency employee. OnePlus has included a logo for the name with the application.
It is obvious that the application is aimed at a replacement designation for Dash Charge, which OnePlus used to indicate its fast charging technology. Two years ago, the Chinese company tried to secure the European rights to this name, but failed because the name was too similar to a similar name of the German Bragi.
Then OnePlus seemed to phase out the name Dash Charge, for example by removing it from loose cables. The name also did not return at the presentation of the OnePlus 6 and the European web store only used the designation ‘fast charge’.
