TP Vision introduces the Philips Fidelio Wireless AV Platform. This is a wireless AV platform based on DTS Play-Fi and companion app designed to seamlessly stream audio between compatible TVs, mobile devices, soundbars and speakers around the home.

TP Vision reports that it is a platform where multiple audio products can be part. The idea is that users have all kinds of options, such as the use of individual speakers as a stereo pair, but also, for example, the use of a soundbar and subwoofer to a set-up with multiple speakers that can fill the entire room. The whole thing is controlled by an app.

Philips FB1

The manufacturer has already introduced three products that will be part of the platform. These are the Fidelio FB1 soundbar, the Fidelio FW1 subwoofer and the Fidelio FS1 satellite speakers. Supporting multi-room and multi-channel technology, these products work in TP Vision’s words as an intelligent ecosystem in which each speaker can detect when it is connected to another. In addition, the speakers adapt to the entire setup to deliver ‘the best acoustic performance’. For example, the system will adapt if the FS1 speakers are used as rear channels or as an independent stereo pair.

The FW1 subwoofer and on the right the FS1 speaker with LED lighting that can work together with the Ambilight function of Philips TVs.

The FB1 is a 7.1.2 soundbar that, according to the manufacturer, is intended to complement minimalist televisions with minimal screen edges. To this end, the soundbar has a relatively flat design. The device contains 15 drivers, has two drivers on the side and two on the top for Dolby Atmos and a power of 310W. The FW1 is a wireless 8″ woofer with a power of 200W.

The FS1 speakers can be used as a single speaker to listen to music, but also as a speaker pair or as satellites in, for example, a 7.1.4 set-up as the rear two channels. These 60W FW1 speakers also have upward-firing drivers and a woofer in the housing and include built-in LED lighting that can be synchronized with Philips Ambilight TVs.

TP Vision is not yet providing information about other products that will become part of the platform. The three discussed products will be released sometime in the second half of this year at undisclosed prices.
