TP-Link introduces three-band Deco X68 knife router with Wi-Fi 6
TP-Link has added a new 802.11ax router to its lineup. The Deco X68 is a three-band mesh system with support for Wi-Fi 6 and a maximum theoretical throughput of 3600Mbit/s.
The TP-Link Deco X68 is an AX3600 router that achieves speeds of 1802Mbit/s and 1201Mbit/s on 5GHz and 574Mbit/s on 2.4GHz. Compared to the previously released, two-band Deco X60-mesh router, the X68 offers the advantage that there is a wireless 5GHz backhaul, where the X60 only offers the option of a backhaul via Ethernet connection.
According to the manufacturer, more than 150 devices can be connected to the mesh system without reducing performance. Two Deco X68 mesh routers provide a range of about 511 square meters, but if three mesh routers are used, that is 650 square meters.
The individual Deco X68 units each have two gigabit Ethernet ports and measure 105×105×168 mm. The product is offered as standard in the form of a box with two units. This will cost $280 in the United States. Converted with VAT, that is currently about 283 euros.
