Total War: Warhammer III is getting a mode that combines trilogy maps in August
Total War: Warhammer III’s Immortal Empires mode will be released in August. This update will not only merge the playing fields of the three Total War: Warhammer RTS games, but will also introduce a number of innovations.
Creative Assembly has on his own blog provided more information about the upcoming Immortal Empires game mode available for free. Necessary features are also introduced, such as a new faction led by Be’Lakor, known from Warhammer III’s Realm of Chaos campaign. There will also be factions for a number of Legendary Lords from Total War: Warhammer, including Volkmar the Grim, Grombrindal, and Helman Ghorst.
It was already known that the Immortal Empires mode would be released as a beta in the third quarter. The developer will combine everything it introduced in the three Total War: Warhammer games, including races, factions, units and Legendary Lords. In addition, there will be sea routes to transport armies from one side to the other.
Creative Assembly emphasizes that the beta status was deliberately chosen because “the whole three-game project won’t be complete in the next few years.” To create the game mode, the development team had to collect the content, features, mechanics, systems and code from three different code bases and combine them into one very large campaign. The developer explains that this is not about simply transferring content from one game to another. “It’s a mountain of phenomenally change-sensitive, technical work,” the company says.
