‘Total number of bans in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds comes down to 13 million’

The total number of account bans handed out in the battle royale game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds so far amounts to just over 13 million. That claims a gamer who added numbers together, which PUBG developer Bluehole announces weekly.

The player shared his findings in a Reddit post. In it, he explains that Bluehole has been publishing weekly figures on the number of permanently banned accounts since June 16 of last year. The Reddit user based this on statistics that the company publishes on a Korean website. In total, these are figures for a period of 69 weeks. By adding up all the numbers, he comes to a total of 13,099,548 accounts.

In addition to the figures, a graph is also available, which shows the weekly numbers. It can be concluded from this that there was a peak in the number of bans around week 42. In February, PUBG’s anti-cheat service, BattlEye, announced that more than a million accounts had been banned during the month of January. At the time, the service said the total number of bans up to that point stood at 1.5 million.

The chart shows a similar picture to recent figures from SteamDB, which chart the game’s player count. There is also a peak around the beginning of the year, after which the number decreases steadily.
