Toshiba shows first 13.3 “laptop with 4k screen
Toshiba has a 13.3 “laptop with a 4k screen. It is a new model in the Radius series and is known to be the first 13.3” laptop with a 4k screen. The laptop was displayed behind glass at the Computex hardware fair and Toshiba is not giving any more details about the laptop for the time being.
Toshiba itself is not present at Computex, but did have some laptops displayed at Microsoft’s booth. There was a new Toshiba Radius on it, accompanied by a sign stating that the laptop is equipped with a 4k screen. There is no more information, and a Microsoft employee informed us that he could not reveal anything about the new laptop.
The glass-backed laptop will most likely have a 13.3″ screen and share the design with the other laptops in the Radius series, which are currently available in 11.6″ and 15.6″ models. The laptop has to be made of metal and the screen can be folded around the housing. In addition to the usual connections such as USB, HDMI and an SD card reader, the laptop also has USB-C.
At CES 2014, Toshiba was one of the first to build a 4k display into a 15.6″ laptop, and the manufacturer now appears to be the first to offer 4k resolution in an even smaller footprint. Whether and when the laptop is actually produced, Toshiba will announce at a later time.Since Microsoft shows it, it seems that the new Raduis will come with Windows 10.
