Toshiba introduces relatively cheap NVME SSDs in OCZ RC100 series
Toshiba has released a new series of NVME SSDs in the OCZ RC100 series. The SSDs are equipped with Toshiba’s 3D TLC NAND memory chips that consist of 64 layers. There are variants of 120, 240 and 480GB.
Toshiba’s new SSDs are m2-2242 models, which means they have a relatively small form factor at 22mm wide and 42mm long. All SSDs use the same unnamed Toshiba controller. The read and write speeds of the 240 and 480 GB ssds are largely the same, but the 120 GB RC100 ssd is a notch slower in terms of these speeds.
The SSDs come in three different sizes of 120, 240 and 480 GB and cost 49.90, 69.90 and 129.90 euros respectively. An exact release date has not yet been announced, but Toshiba reports that the SSDs should be available at European stores by the end of this week.
