Toshiba introduces new SSDs and HDDs
Toshiba comes with the Q300 and Q300 Pro series of SSDs, which are equipped with 3-bit-per-cell and 2-bit-per-cell nand-flash respectively. In addition, the company is releasing new 3.5″ and 2.5″ HDDs and SSDs.
The Q300 Pro SSDs are mlc drives that contain a controller from Toshiba itself and support trim and native command queuing. Toshiba is aimed at the demanding user and offers, among other things, the possibility for a read-only mode and the application of error correction code to prevent data corruption. Toshiba releases the drives with memory sizes of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, with a starting price of 119 euros. The Q300 is for regular users and these TLC drives come on the market in variants with 120GB, 240GB, 480GB and 960GB storage space. The 120GB version will cost 79 euros.
In addition to SSDs, Toshiba is also expanding its range of hard drives. The E300 is a 3.5″ HDD that should distinguish itself with low consumption and quiet operation. The rotation speed is 5940rpm for the 3TB model and 5700rpm for the 2TB version. The starting price is 99 euros. The P300 is thanks to the rotation speed of 7200rpm a bit faster.There is 64MB cache and there will be four versions, with storage capacities of 500GB, 1TB, 2TB and 3TB, with the former priced at 59 euros. The X300 works as a 3.5″ drive on 7200rpm and is also provided with 128MB cache. This high-end model is available in versions with 4TB, 5TB and 6TB with a starting price of 229 euros.
In the line of 2.5″ drives, the Japanese company releases the H200. This is a solid state hybrid drive with 8GB flash cache. There will be variants with 500GB and 1TB, with a price of 69 euros for the former. for the L200, but these are regular 2.5″ HDDs that are available for a price from 69 euros.
The storage media will be on the market this month.
