Toshiba has shown three SSDs with nvm-express bus. The storage memory uses controllers and mlc-nand from the company itself. The drives serve several markets, including the enterprise market and a low-power variant for tablets and ultrabooks.

The Japanese electronics company will present the drives just before the Flash Memory Summit in Santa Clara. The XG3 series is aimed at the demanding user and comes in the M.2 2280 form factor. In that case, the drive can use four PCI-e 3.1 lanes. The 2.5″ drive variant uses a SATA express connection. It is still unclear what storage capacity the different drives have. It is known that the largest drives can handle 1024GB.

For tablets, Toshiba releases the BG1 series with a maximum storage capacity of 256GB in a format of 16 by 20 mm. Connection is made via a solder connection or as plug-in card M.2 2230.

For server and storage services, Toshiba comes with the PX04P series. The series comes as 2.5″ SSD or plug-in card. The latter is available in hhl format and can use four PCI-E 3.0 lanes. The storage memory can be accessed at a sequential read speed of 3100MB per second. Write to the 800, 1600 or 3200 gigabyte disks can run at 2350MB/s.
