Top woman of Sony’s God of War game studio to lead new Google studio

Shannon Studstill has left Santa Monica, Sony’s studio that makes the God of War games. Studstill will lead a new Google Stadia studio that will develop exclusive games for the streaming service.

The new studio will be located in Playa Vista, California, and it will be the second studio under the Stadia Games & Entertainment banner. According to Google, the new Stadia studio will create exclusive games with “new gameplay mechanics, creative ways to play together and new ways of interacting.” Google has not yet announced specific details.

Shannon Studstill will be in charge of the new studio. Until recently, she headed Sony’s Santa Monica studio, which is mainly known for the God of War games. At the end of last year, Google opened its first Stadia studio in Montreal. That studio is headed by Jade Raymond, a former Ubisoft executive. That studio is also working on exclusive games for Stadia about which no details are known yet.
