A hell of a soundtrack, learning skateboard tricks without having to deal with bruises and above all: action-rich gameplay that you could still enjoy leaning backward. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series was one of the most played series of the 00’s. Good news for anyone who wants to relive that – in good quality -: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 will be remastered.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater
While we’ve been mostly disappointed in the last decade by almost any kind of revival of Tony Hawk’s popular games, there is hope that this remaster will be worth it. Firstly, because it’s a remaster, and hopefully there won’t be too much change to Mr. Hawk’s successful first games (especially controls not).
Secondly, because Tony Hawk himself has completely attached his name and face to it. That he now brings this with so much confidence and moving forward, also with Activision behind him, that makes us positive. And third, because the first images also look really good and you can even play the games in 4K on a large PC or an Xbox One X. Hawk has found Jack Black willing to announce this in a funny video:
Skateboard nostalgia
Tony Hawk ‘s Pro Skater 1 and 2 are great games to lose all afternoons, evenings and weekends. Especially now that we are more inside, it is extra nice to see this franchise again. If only to hear that iconic soundtrack again, as a result of which many gamers discovered new artists. In addition, a kind of do-it-yourself mode is also added to the game with which you can create your own tracks that you can of course also share online.
Make no mistake, we are talking about the time when we were still playing on a PlayStation 1, so there will probably be a lot of nostalgic feelings in this remaster as well. Even now that the skateboard suddenly has round HD wheels instead of pixelated square ones.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 are coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on September 4 for 40 euros.
