Ubisoft is releasing a new installment in the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series on October 4. Breakpoint is the successor to Wildlands and the character Nomad from that game makes his return. The action game will be released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Breakpoint is set on the fictional archipelago of Auroa, where the research complex of the also fictional tech billionaire Jace Skell is located. The US military discovers suspicious activity and sends Nomad to investigate. Nomad’s mission quickly turns into a survival fight when his helicopter is shot from the sky, leaving him alone on the team. The facility appears to have been taken over by The Wolves, a group of Ghosts who are taking a hostile attitude.

The area in which Ghost Recon Breakpoint takes place contains different types of landscapes, ranging from jungle to snowy mountain peaks. Each area has its own weather conditions. Players can camouflage themselves in those different areas by making use of the environment, for example by smearing themselves with mud. The game has survival elements. For example, players can sustain serious injuries that they then have to heal at their camp. It is also possible to move bodies, both of allies and opponents.

As in Wildlands, co-op is present in Breakpoint. The game can be played with four players. A player-versus-player mode is also available upon release. Raids will also come to the game later, but when is not yet known.
