Developer Respawn Entertainment announced via Twitter that the first DLC for Titanfall will be released in May. The expansion is called Expedition and contains three new maps. The maps feature a story that builds on that from the game’s campaign.

Simultaneously with the tweet in which Respawn announced the DLC, the studio released some more details about the expansion during the Pax East game fair. For example, the developer revealed that the three maps have been christened Swampland, Runoff and War Games and that the three contain a storyline that connects to that from the multiplayer campaign of the game.

Swampland is a map that shows the remains of ancient, alien technology. There are many trees in Runoff, which can be used for the wall runs that pilots can perform in the game. War Games takes place in the same environment as the simulator featured in the game’s tutorial. The DLC is called Expedition, it will be released in May and will cost $10.

During the fair, Respawn also revealed that it is working on free updates for the game. It also wants to add extra options to the game. For example, the studio is working on a new game format, Last Titan Standing, in which both competing teams consist of only two players. In addition, Respawn wants to add extra Burn Cards to the game, especially for Titans. In addition, Respawn wants to improve the matchmaking system, including by letting players use hashtags when searching for suitable opponents.
