Tinder introduces video calling feature

Dating app Tinder starts by offering a function to video call someone with whom a user has a match. Users must have the function enabled and can also reject calls.

The feature is called Face to Face, Techcrunch reports. It is only possible to make video calls with people with whom a match has been made and per match, both users must agree to the possibility to video call before a connection can be set up. That should prevent abuse of the position, the company says.

In addition, there is a reporting function if users believe someone has misbehaved within a video call. Tinder has already tested the feature and is now going to offer it to all users worldwide. It’s not the first thing the dating app does with video. For example, users with Loops can use videos as profile pictures. The company behind the dating app also made an interactive video series before. Tinder is owned by parent company Match Group, which includes many more dating services.
