TikTok adds video editing tools to app
TikTok is adding new, more comprehensive video editing tools. Users can now customize video clips, sounds and images directly from TikTok, without having to use an external app.
The social media platform already had some basic video editing tools, but with the arrival of the update, more editing options have been added. For example, it is now possible to split video clips in the app itself and to stack videos. Also, it should now be easier to add text and audio to videos and edit them.
TikTok now also makes it possible to adjust the playback speed of videos. In addition, there is now an option to add picture-in-picture overlays and individual clips can be rotated or zoomed in. In addition, a photo mode has been added, which allows users to add images to a carousel. The images are then displayed one after the other in a video.
According to the subsidiary of ByteDance these new tools should provide users with ‘more creative freedom’. Furthermore, it is now possible to place longer descriptions with videos and in the new photo mode, with a maximum of 2200 characters per post. For example, users should be given ‘more space to express themselves’. The update is now available.
