Thrustmaster releases F1 racing wheel based on Ferrari SF1000 for 350 euros
Thrustmaster releases a Formula 1 racing wheel for its T-series that is based on the wheel from the Ferrari SF1000. That is the name of Ferrari’s F1 car from 2020. The screen has an LCD on which dashboard data from games can be shown.
The Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF1000 Edition is an extension to existing Thrustmaster sets of steering wheels and pedals. The handlebar can be mounted on various models of the T-series: these are the TS-XW, T-GT, T300, TX and TS-PC.
The Ferrari-licensed replica wheel contains a 4.3″ LCD where data can be displayed. There is a different display for ‘every type of game’, Thrustmaster writes on its site. It is possible to connect the wheel to WiFi to wirelessly display telemetry on the screen.
According to Thrustmaster, the wheel has integration with Codemasters F1 2020 on both the PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles. This allows data from the game to be displayed on the LCD on the screen. The handlebar also has 21 LEDs, 15 of which are used to indicate engine RPM and 6 are used to display warnings when the marshals wave a particular flag.
The handlebar has a 3mm thick carbon fiber center plate, 11 physical buttons and 7 rotary knobs. At the rear are interchangeable magnetic shift paddles, which are made of aluminum. The steering wheel is compatible with the Thrustmaster T-Chrone Paddles paddle shifters, which are sold separately for 60 euros.
